But I went to a gym for the first time in like 7 years. Yes I went after the front desk closed because I was anxious. Yes I googled how to do workouts in between sets. Yes I'm tired as hell.
Feeling excited for the next one in two days. Hoping to actually get some mass on my chest and hide/correct my flared ribs.
Hell yeah. I bet you’ll feel less and less anxious every time you go and become more familiar with the setup and your routine.
I was there for an hour. I don't think I did them efficiently and I don't really know if I even did a complete workout. I had to modify and Frankenstein some workouts with my pectus condition.
I spent way too long figuring out how to adjust the leg press lmao
That's fantastic! Nothing makes you feel like heavy lifting does (well, drugs can I guess.) But long term nothing else.
If you can get on a program and make sure you're gaining weight now, you will progress exponentially faster.
Good luck!
Edit: My favorite beginner's program is this one
I still look up lifts at the gym. Even ones I've been doing for years. Sometimes I just need to reassure myself I'm using the right form. I still get self conscious too, but it's worth it to be healthier. Congrats and keep it up!
Going back to the gym is awesome, so proud of u! You'll feel super sore at first, drink plenty of water and do some very light bodyweight exercises, and you'll be back up to it before long.
Should I workout tomorrow if I'm still sore/tender or should I wait another day?
Good job, buddy. I'm itching for my local gym to open back up. Need to get that PUMP in.
Good job! Working out can be such a hassle but it's worth it. :bird-bouncy:
