I'm not sure how to cleverly structure this point but 30 to 40% of the country being anti-vaccine was known from the start so the fact that about that percent is and will remain unvaccinated is literally not a surprise at all
I guess there's not much point bringing this up because it's not like any of us could have done anything about this, but still very surprised-pikachu that the exact thing we said was guaranteed to happen about 8 months ago in fact ended up happening
the existence of Andrew Wakefield has been overall a tragedy for the human race
As was Jenny McCarthy getting unlimited media coverage to spew her BS as fact simply because of connections/being pretty.
most of the west seems set to use 'vaccine passports' to nudge policy people into getting vaccinated. which itself has huge structural issues, and is likely going to fail
Should have put them in camps and forced them to get it or die working for communism.
For a lot of people, surprise is an expression of moral judgement, not probability.
And those people suck. But I don't want to write a giant rant right now, so I'll leave it at that.
Yeah I understand, it was kind of rhetorical question. Factually I'm not surprised either, but I still can't help but be disappointed that my most cynical imagining ended up being the correct one
