they should make one more series where in every episode they all turn to the camera and say "YES THIS IS COMMUNISM, PRAISE STALIN".

    and then make no more.

Star Trek should have ended after the people who thought "having our show be set on a starship is too exciting let's have out next show be set entirely on a space station and have all the exciting things come to them" stopped having control over the show.

In a more fair universe, we had a 7-season run of Enterprise season 4. Finale aside, they found their feet in that year. I loved the Vulcan storyline and the birth-of-the-federation arc.

Of course, Lower Decks is wonderful too. The production team accomplished a miracle. A semi-self-parody loaded with in-jokes and fanservice and foul language and sex jokes. Yet somehow it stays true to the spirit of TNG/DS9. It retains the core message of "we humans can accomplish wonders, if we just stop being complete assholes to each other".

I'll change the question a little to be "when will".

When the Sun goes supernova. Or when the ratings die.

Star Trek hasn't been good since the last millennium.

(I like Enterprise, but I wouldn't accuse it of being "good")

Star Trek should never end but it needs to not be made my corporate suits. There is such fertile ground in the Star Trek universe if it was given to competent people with an actual vision allowed to take risks.
