The venue has a reputation for being....shit (they booked Gavin McIness on one of his little tours a while back). Each year, someone in my city puts on a metal fest there and lots of nazi bands from Europe come over and play, and apparently openly fascist shit is sold at the merch booths.
Last year I emailed the local city council about it. They were useless. Right now, I'm about to email the music section of my local big paper about it, AND OFFER RECIEPTS (since I can easily compile a good amount of evidence of nazism) to see if they wanna shed some light on it.
What else can I do short of ?
Get local inspectors up their asses. Do they sell food? Call the Health Department and tell em you saw a rat there, or that you saw black mold. Stuff like that. Call the state liquor board or whatever you have and tell em you saw them serving someone who was clearly underage. Every business fucks around with this kinda stuff so you just gotta cast a wide enough net.
This is the way. McKamey Manor got shut down over fire code.
1000%. Local businesses live off of being too small for regulators to take the time to check them on shit. You are surrounded by a sea of health code violations at any given moment
be our channel 5. show us how they are actually just regular guys deep down, misguided. wait why did we like that guy again
I think I remember you mentioning this place before? How did it go getting other bands to cancel gigs there?
Talking to local is a good idea, they are always looking for controversial shit. See if the venue advertises or does promotions with radio stations too and call them too.
I’m not sure what those words mean, but I say let them fight
Please don't let this be dark lord day please don't let this be dark lord day
Phew. Anyway I think the best way is what you're doing, definitely let the media know. It's unfortunate but that's probably the best way to put public pressure on these assholes. Or it'll end up being free publicity for Nazi Metal Fest and just make it more popular. Hopefully not though, metal fans are usually pretty anti Nazi.
I think I CC'd everyone in the music section on my email. Now we wait for a reply.
If it’s a blue government, See if there are any radlib organizations that would campaign against voting for the current leaders. That should scare them into doing something
I don't blame you if you don't want to say, but do you want to call out the venue or fest?
I'm gonna DM you so that searching for the fest name doesn't lead back here.
Here? Nah, don't want it coming up in search results, they know who I am.
Bring a large mason jar of giant asian hornets (at least 50 per nazi) and introduce them to the nazis so they can debate in the market place of free speech ideas
A rubber band is not a nazi. A jolly rancher is not a nazi. Perhaps in Shangra-la they are, but not here!
If your city or region has an active antifascist group, inform them. My hometown used to have regular nazi gatherings, now they've all been doxxed and had their lives ruined. They are ruthlessly effective.
Can you dm me deets? Depending on the city I might have some ideas
