And now the socdem tendies are widely considered to be too radical and unfeasible.

It's really weird to me because "becoming a functioning member of society with stable income" was a major radicalising factor for me.

A rare instance of a liberal recognising the impact of material conditions.

This sounds like a guy who probably thought "Yeah, of course communism/socialism/anarchism is a great idea, in theory." even when he was a 'radical'. His radicalism was not actually based in the refinement, usage and predictive properties of radical theories and practice, but simply how he felt and what politics he thought justified his feelings.

In essence, he is most Americans and a case study in the reasoning why, on the whole, material interests are greater than ideology.

Just reads like he's desperately trying to convince himself of contentment and a feeling of fitting into the status quo because he's tired of feeling isolated by the feelings within him.

    Or I'm projecting

    LMAO the 24 hour shift

Also, the "I got mine" mentality is funny when it sounds like being a functioning member of society for this person really means teetering on the edge of functional lol

When you go "this is hell" and then go "oh fuck, I have it better than so many others, we need to tear it down"

That whole thread was basically full of former radlibs who were never particularly radical and "deradicalized" because of "disappointment with the Sanders campaign", the like one honest answer was the dude who said "a mortgage and a 401k". Oh and for a lot of these "former radical leftists" "disillusionment" was usually getting yelled at online. Real coherent politics these people have.

Also lots of former Nazis who got their politics from fucking YouTube videos and "mellowed" after getting disillusioned

I know a self-described neolib who lives with his brother and keeps trying to make him charge him rent.

Regarding rich people, i'd hope they were not murdered, perhaps executed if the crime and laws permit, preferably re-educated.
