The survey, conducted THIS WEEK by Harvard-Harris polling, found 51% of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 said they believed the long-term answer to the Israel-Palestinian conflict was for “Israel to be ended and given to Hamas and the Palestinians.”

Only 32% said they believed in a two-state solution, and just 17% said other Arab states should be asked to absorb Palestinian populations.

Yeah , I'm not surprised. If you're constantly online the way an 18-24 year old is, then for the past few months you've been exposed to thousands of images and videos of very relatable kids, teens and twenty somethings being put through unimaginable horror.

There's probably going to be some kind of crackdown on the internet soon. The US can't support a genocidal colonial project if the victims can livestream their suffering to the world.

I’m like 40. It’s hard to emphasize to younger people just how bleak the position of “the left” was when I was in high school. Michael Moore was the furthest left person in the public eye and he was regularly excoriated by everyone (which is why, even though he’s a lib I have a soft spot for him). The “best” position kids had at the time that I can remember was “hey, maybe gay people should have the same rights as everyone else”.

The worst of it was just how uninterested kids in my day were with the wider world. Apolitical was the default. No one gave a shit. Giving a shit got you branded as a weirdo. When I see videos like the those kids in SF chanting “from the river to the sea” and the other students cheering them on, I go full bloomer. The kids are definitely alright.

Even when the question is incredibly leading like that, they still can't even get the results they want.

of course they frame it as Israel vs Hamas and not Palestine. never mind the fact that Hamas is only in power because of Israel's occupation

    Bad take from the Zoomers.

Israel should be ended and given to the DFLP/PFLP.

      PFLP

Zoomers don't really know about the PFLP since most of the stuff they did that made them known in the west happened 30 years before most of us were born.

Hamas sucks, but of the three options its the best because its the only that includes giving Palestine back to the Palestinians. I personally don't believe Hamas would ever be able to actually govern Palestine and would collapse almost immediately if put in charge and a more secular party would take over.

this is a bit silly - if Isntreal somehow collapsed and Hamas took over, they'd rightly be credited for accomplishing that and have support from every Palestinian for decades. no other party would have a chance.

It's half joking. Both DFLP and PFLP call for critical support for Hamas at the current time.

Every question in the poll is sooooooooooo insanely slanted. The wording I guess is basically from the NY Post directly or the pollster is even more of a hack organization than most (link to questions from MF_COOM In this thread).

In fact the entire poll is such BS, and basically ever response sucks, that I would disregard this whole thing.

    I mean look at this

    Show

It's just a perfect example of how completely fake polls are.

As a gen z I can confirm this is probably way too optimistic. Just this friday I heard someone making racist jokes about China (also unironically said 'east turkistan' terrorism good when against yellow people I guess)
