I don't see how the left doesn't end up permanently splitting or getting subsumed. It's very clear there's a portion of the left that's made up mostly of young people who mainly wanted a cozy subculture to deal with social alienation while they are transitioning to adulthood. Which to be fair was like 90% of the American left over the last few decades and the area wherein staying grassroots and never expecting much is perfectly fine.

But once you start collecting hundreds of millions of dollars on the basis of doing something about healthcare and police brutality and hitch yourself to material needs like an actual political movement that can't last. You're eventually going to get driven toward Lenin whether you like it or not.
