As a Swede I absolutely love this design, aside from just the point about him looking like a power lifter, he literally has a magic belt that doubles his strength, the man can afford to let himself skip a few days or years of training to drink an oceans worth of alcohol.
The Tyr design looks pretty dope too, not really the kind Im used to but Tyr is also obscure enough that any design works for him since he's basically only part of 2-3 myths, and in one of them he's just there so Loke can call him a cuck(Which he called all of the men of asgard, and then he called all of their wives sluts) and in the other he dies along with 99% of the world.
Edit: Also of course even a god that has nothing to do with any sort of fighting, Balder, is shown in the first of the new God of War games to be capable of going 1v1 with Kratos, if Tor was in top condition like he had been training to fight Kratos it wouldnt make much sense for Kratos to have any kind of chance. And probably it will still be a struggle in the game I assume.
I just love a different design that actually makes more sense than the Adonis
Honestly it's actually a fantastic character design choice. Especially since for a boss fight I think he'd be more menacing this way than if he just looked like Kratos.
This is what years of portraying dehydration and dangerous crash diets in media does to a motherfucker.
Like they whine about historical accuracy ™️ but when they see people actually depicted in accurate ways, they freak out even more.
nooo the only body type for strong men in games is big, lean himbos with rippling CUT muscles.... strong arms... to hold me.... so safe .... :panting: wait what were talking about?
Man looks like he could be a bear if he let some hair grow out
It is based on Norf FC, which is a depiction of a certain kind of English football supporter. The kind that will be shirtless at a football game in winter banging a big drum like this guy, or this guy, or this guy.
Modi casting the blizzard in the first game is basically this lol
Everytime I see FC culitre it looks so much more fun than our sport culture
What's that from?
Edit - thanks, y'all. This is fascinating! I've found a new rabbit hole.
It's from an old Norse myth about how the giant Þrymr nicked Thor's hammer and demanded o get Freya as his bride for its return. Freya refused to marry him so to get the hammer back Thor had to dress up as Freya and go to Þrymrs hall together with Loki dressed up as a bridesmaid.
When they got there to celebrate the wedding Thor ate an ox, eight fish and all the cake. Loki told Þrymr that Freya had this appetite because she had not been eating for eight days because she was so excited to get married. Then Þrymr wanted to kiss the bride but the pissed-off Thor sent him an angry look that made him jump away. Loki explained that Freya's eyes looked like this because she hadn't been able to sleep for eight days because she was so excited to get married.
Then Þrymr had his men bring him Thor's hammer and placed it in Thor's lap as a wedding gift. Thor grabbed the hammer and slew all the giants.
Then Thor and Loki went home.
Some scholars considers this story to be thoroughly heathen, dating from 900 CE. Others have theorised that it is a Christian parody of the Norse god's. Loki's absurd explanations to the crossdressing Thor's non-passing behaviour also has many similarities with the answers the big bad wolf gives in the Little Red Riding Hood.
The story is popular in Scandinavia and has been the subject of folk songs, comic books and the first Icelandic language opera.
Thor would have to have been dummy thick to pull that off. This thor look like he would have the assests to pull off the mission.
Vallhall(Vallhalla I think internationally), a Danish comic book adaptation of the most famous stories from the Nordic mythology, typically has a very light and comedic tone due to being marketed kinda towards everyone which gives it a fun charm.
Gamers once again proving they have no taste by rejecting Dad Bod Thor
Why does everyone act like /v/ wasn't always a reactionary hive of scum villainy. Motherfuckers will always complain about the most minor of bullshit. Every video game you love, some on /v/ has posted about how it has ruined their life.
