Obviously nobody can admit this, as it would make State and the intelligence community look bad. So far they've managed to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse by blaming it on the commies or TEH ROOSHINS, which has worked out really well for them.

Whether it's 10 people in Kabul, or1,000,000 people in Iraq, or 10,000,000 Native Americans, and so on... this is the typical American's response to every evil thing the USA has done. Anything bad thing any other country does shows how evil they are (if that's what we want to see); but anything evil we do is just "a mistake". A simple "oppsie daisy". It doesn't change the fact we're the good guys, obviously.

It probably is, though it is definitely more fun to think its some Yankees just getting hammered regularly (which I would imagine would do brain damage but I'm no doctor). The CIA just loves to use it for propoganda, and CNN loves to repeat it uncritically.
