I don't mind superhots but going full throttle is a treat, not the norm

I like Secret Aardvark habanero sauce

It's got a kick, but also plenty of flavor that balances out the whole thing

One of my favorites along with the El Yucateco green jalapeno sauce

Yeah I've heard good things about SA. Never seen it around so I'd have to order it online to try it.

seems to be local to the PNW, especially Portland. It's quite tangy

im eating sambal oelek rn, from Huy Fong Foods, I like to put it on my eggs. Its a little different from a classic hot sauce tho. I also use Frank's Red Hot a lot.

Sambal is also a really delicious thing to make yourself! You can make it with pretty much any Chiles you can get at the supermarket. If you've never tried fermentation, this is like the easiest and most rewarding place to start. Pm me for recipe

It's hard to go wrong with plain old Texas Pete. It's not fancy, but it's cheap and tastes good on pretty much anything. They also have a hotter version, which is still not super hot.

I also like Cholula, specifically the chili garlic and green pepper flavors.

If you live somewhere where you can find Jamaican groceries, I recommend Walkerswood and Pickapeppa. They've got a little sweetness to them, but not too much.

El Yucateo in all its forms, plus Blair's Original Death Sauce, which is probably the hottest everyday hotsauce I'd like. For anything where I just need a little bit of heat I'm a basic bitch cayenne sauce kinda guy, like Frank's or Tabasco.

That being said, hot sauce is super simple to make too, it's basically a matter of just boiling some chopped peppers with some vinegar, and then blending it. Always worth trying it once, I'd say.

I made a couple of my own when I grew peppers a few years ago, a quick one with jalapenos and carrots, and another that was lacto-fermented scotch bonnets with garlic and allspice. Good shit, really flavorful but for some reason it turned out way hotter than any other bonnet/habanero-tier sauce I've ever bought.

      El Yucateo is always good.

Everyone should try making hot sauce at least once. It's fun, especially when you grow the peppers yourself.
