Trump Tells Republicans Not to Vote in 2022 or 2024

In a new statement that he would have posted on Twitter himself if his account was not permanently suspended for inciting violence, former President Donald Trump urged his supporters not to vote in the two upcoming elections if the Republican Party does not “solve” the supposed voter fraud that he has falsely claimed precipitated his loss to President Joe Biden.

“If we don’t solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting in ’22 or ’24,” Trump declared. “It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do.”

After prominent Trump supporters similarly told Georgia Republicans to sit out the two runoffs in that state late last year, calling it “another rigged election,” voters ended up giving Democrats control of the Senate.

This is why I think "Democrats lose in a landslide" isn't quite as baked in as Leftists want to believe.

"hurr durr democrats will lose" is guaranteed upvote bait on this site regardless of whether it's true (and sometimes it is!). Heck, the loudest people on this site root for the GOP half the time because they're "I'm too cool to vote" edgelords or think accelerationism isn't just another word for fascist collaboration.

I don't think Democrats are like, in a good position for 2022/24 but it's far from a foregone conclusion that they'll lose.

There's a segment of people on here who think part of leftism is reflexively opposing whatever Democrats do. It's just contrarianism.

Nobody's rooting for the GOP in a serious way. We know electoralism is a failure so it's pure spectator sport. Democrats losing in 2022 will be funny, that's it (ofc Republicans throwing it by not voting on Trump's command would be even more funny). And voting for Democrats is just fucking pointless, not because we're "too cool to vote" or we want the GOP to win, just because there's no point. And before you say "harm reduction", please take a long look at the Biden administration and tell me how that's been going.

How is this even still a point to be argued on this site?

Is this a self own, or is it trump egging his base on towards civil war?

I dont think calls against electoralism from the right is necessarily a good thing

its so fucking weird. like, there’s still time for him to backtrack on this and run himself, but this announcement is first and foremost a threat to the republican party — “get on board with the Trump Was Robbed narrative or lose your voter base”. but what happens if the party realigns completely with him and picks up the voter fraud line? does he try to have himself reinstated, or is it just fodder to impeach Biden? Trump posted on his website back in May i think, some analogy about how when a jewelry store gets robbed, you dont just imprison the burglrs, you put the jewels back. his goal is reinstatement as president, and this most recent message seems to say ‘and we’re not doing the electoral way’

there’s time for things to swing around change course but i don’t like where this is headed, especially with the recent flirting with secessionism that people like Majorie Taylor Greene are doing

or, maybe Trump isn’t playing 5D, 4D, or even 3D chess and he’s actually just saying something really dumb that he’ll backpedal on immediately because he’s a moron who constantly runs his mouth

“Look folks, my rooks, my rooks are the best in the history of chess, okay? You look at them, and they are very powerful. And, you know what that means? It means that they are incredible at moving sideways, and forwards, AND backwards. They are very powerful, folks.”

It's definitely accelerationist territory, which the left isn't close to ready for.

More evidence that this is the criminal mastermind that created all of America's problems, which definitely weren't already at crisis levels for decades.

That article seems to be misreading a pretty clear statement? Like I know the Daily Beast are morons, but this is hardly the most incomprehensible he's ever been. He's not saying that Republicans should withhold their vote, he's saying that the Dems stole the election in 2020, and they're going to steal every election after that if they're not stopped.

Edit: Never mind, apparently the hogs think it means don't vote too

If the democrats continue to misplay everything and somehow still win because Trump told republicans not to vote, I will laugh my ass off.

How much do you want to bet Biden is going to chastise news outlets for reporting this? On the flip side, maybe accidental reverse psychology would work??

Trump says "Revolutionaries don't vote! Prepare for people's war!"

Now that i think about it this is a pretty bad development if it actually runs its course.

Nah. These piss babies can't organize to achieve anything grander than a series of stochastic attacks. Half of them will be the FBI walking them through it, too.

I thought he might threaten to pull shit like this before the 2022 elections - as a reminder to the GOP that he's in control and they must always do exactly what he wants. And if they didn't - he'd go nuclear.

It's crazy but it's possible Trump could be the dem savior in 2022.

Trump destroyed an entire football league, the USFL, because NFL owners thought Trump was too crass and slimey to own a NFL franchise.

He bullied everyone in the USFL to do everything in their power to either be like the NFL or better which burnt out all the talent in the organization. Near the end the teams were made up of criminals, college football dropouts, and 40 year olds.

This is probably the only thing that could save the Democrats, and it would be maybe the funniest possible outcome.
