I am a good person as long as I sometimes make vague feel-good statements and watch a Netflix documentary about problems with the US criminal justice system. My actions are completely disconnected from my morals and my character, it is the vague gestures that actually define me. And if left-wingers point at my actions, then they are actually the bad people, because I can see them being personally mean to me right now.

It’s been a dangerous year to be a reporter in Isn’treal, or to be Julian Assange. Leftist investigative reporters like Aaron Maté caught a lot of flak this year. Even not-especially-leftist, civil libertarian investigative reporters like Max Blumenthal & Matt Taibbi took a lot of flak from the Democrat-led establishment and their corporate media lackeys this year.
