I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the books and the Lynch version of the film. I kept re-watching some scenes because they were so interesting. I already said this in another thread but I wish more effort was put into making the story feel like it had naturally concluded or at least was at a resting point, because the end felt sudden. I guess putting all the eggs in the "we will definitely do part 2" basket, hope they do.
Am I crazy to think that David Lynch's Dune was better? I just feel like shit was explained better and he still managed to deliver a complete story in about the same runtime.
Yeah, I haven't watched it in a long time but I do think you're right. The new Dune felt a lot more mysterious, and my understanding relied heavily on having read the books multiple times when I was a kid.
