TFW when you finish the third Fitz trilogy and realize the whole thing was love story between Fitz and the Fool
The only fiction where the main character is guaranteed to be having a worse time than you.
I didn’t bother looking at all the books, but I saw Marx on the shelf so you’re probably okay.
China Mieville books and not The City and the City? Shame
It's between House of Leaves and Caliban and the Witch
Surprised you don't have Harry Potter considering you're a :LIB:
I have two copies of each book and DVD on my preserved teenage shrine where I’ve since carved out the eyes of JK Rowling and drawn joker makeup over her face
It looks like the bookshelf on someone who actually reads the books. So if not orderly, I imagine it belongs to the mind of a well read person
Yeah my bookshelf is full of required reading books from college a few unopened Graeber books
Edit: merely a joke. I never finished college and kept none of the books. My bookshelf is full of old DVDs
Farseer Chronicles. It's a lot of books, but it's absolutely worth it and I felt that sweet sadness when I finished the last one. She puts so much effort into her characters and though she does make them suffer, as someone else mentioned, it's all worth it at the end. I never had the feeling that any of it was done just for the sake of shock or outrage.
She's very good but she also loves putting her protagonists through hell. So it's a recommendation, but you should enjoy suffering.
If you like fantasy, go with Perdido Street Station. If you like SF, Embassy town.
Otherwise, The City And The City will never steer you wrong.
Meiville, Hobb, Stephenson AND Simmons
I can only conclude that you are the good taste fairy and I need to read every other book on that shelf.
Special emphasis on Kim Stanley Robinson and Roger Zelazny, then!
I have the same edition of capital. Super annoying to have to flip to the back to read the footnotes smh
Nice collection, I love Perdido Street Station! And Books of Blood is one of my favorite short horror story anthologies :)
