Liminal mansion liminal mansion. That side view looks like some kind of entity that assumes the identity of a suburban home

      You might be onto something.

Both these properties were built in 2001

It is believed that the properties were built by a local doctor,

Seriously, nobody can say what the fuck happened here twenty years ago, it’s a myth already?

How tf does a "local doctor" build something like this anyway?

Doctor was probably doing Medicare fraud, but the house is probably also built out of the cheapest plywood.

lol, "local doctor" makes it sound like he was just a small town pediatrician. There is no way he built this monstrosity on a doctor's salary alone, as lucrative as that profession can be.

Jim said, “There were probably 60 people in the room and 58 of them were opposed to The Bailey House”. Youngblood and Mode say the Manvel citizens voiced concerns about having homeless veterans in the neighborhood.

they wouldn't be homeless and what fucking neighbourhood?

At least the original idea behind it seemed pretty good. The locals didn’t want homeless veterans in their neighborhood but were totally ok with a 60,000 sq foot abandoned house that people frequently broke into. ___

There was a similar situation in my hometown, where the locals were opposed to an opioid rehab clinic opening because they "didn't want junkies all over their town..."

    An elevator

You know I kind of assumed that meant like a big elevator for moving large, heavy things up and down since the building is more long than tall, but no it's just a tiny elevator with a normal non-elevator door on it. The wildest thing is it was apparently designed to be something between a retirement home and an outright medical care facility, so it really should have had more, larger elevators with room for wheelchair access and probably a freight elevator somewhere, but even before the project fell apart it was just horribly ill thought out and poorly designed.

They didn't finish all the rooms but they did an excellent job of making the place haunted from the beginning.

This is the most hilarious feature of the house to me. It's like the first time I ever used the TES editor to make a custom building for morrowind

It's so unbelievable hideous. If they have so much money why don't they design something that isn't gag-inducing?
