Thank, seems like principled position on convertibles etiquette :rat-salute:

Semi-car related question, if one has rusty bolt in need of unscrewing , what do? Just some wd and pray?

Ooh, also might be semi mechanics related: imagine I have a disk which is put on a ball bearing around an axle, but it got stuck, and I don’t have lots of grip on it, outside of same wd and pray, any ideas? I figured heating ball bearing is very silly, cause grease will burn :thonk:

The most effective method I've found is to heat up the bolt with a blow torch (or even just a candle) and then melt some candle wax into the threads.

Well, you have to get the order of operations right, give them a reason to use the extinguisher first (in Minecraft). :do-not-do-this:

I have an f-350 diesel, obviously it takes a bit for the engine to warm up enough to run, but for some reason it takes way longer if I'm trying to reverse. Like today I didn't let it warm up enough and the engine cut out, never happens if I'm going forward instead of reverse though. Not really a problem at all but I've been curious as to why it's so different.

It was about 50 today when it happened. Normally only happens when left over night but on a few occasions its happened after just a few hours, but I think mostly on real cold days. It's when I try to give it gas. '03 and I think 5.8

Not OP but wanted to help.
That's about the condition my 94 impreza was in when I bought it. Kept it going for a while but my dad is a mechanic and I'm handy. If the sound while turning is a clunky rattle it could be a cv joint.

I'd say sell because someone can probably still fix and use it if the engine is good.

I drive a 95 wrangler. It rapidly fluctuates between being cool as shit and a hunk of junk depending on how the transmission is acting up. It’s been my dream car since I was a kid because I loved it as the ranger vehicle in Jurassic Park but man I’m having to sink too much money into it to keep it operational
