There is also a longer video here, now with the English subtitles. There has not been any US response yet, afaik. Looks like an act of piracy, not the first time when it comes to Iranian oil tankers. According to one version the tanker was headed to Venezuela, which would make sense, but still not very clear what and why.

Bruh my asshole would be clenched so hard in that situation, you're literally one accidental twitch of a finger away from causing an international incident

International incidents blowing up essentially require a top-bottom "Let's fucking GOOO" mindset.

The only time actual violence happens is when the incident was just an excuse.

Eh. I've seen a few stories on CBS and NYT, but of course they're giving the U.S. Navy the benefit of the doubt that they'd never give Iran.

Doesn't matter either way though. The people whose fingers are actually on the Run the World buttons see what's going on and know what it implies.

Tons of US cash is held overseas specifically to facilitate transactions through US meditated interests.

If the dollar stops being the global reserve currency, all that money gets jettisoned into the markets and floods into the retail sector.

We're already seeing this to some degree, with the Great Resignation. More cash than labor means wages go up.
