Clear all YouTube cookies, install ublock-origin, and only view YouTube in private browsing like I do. Now it only reccomends me the dumbest shit ever so I only ever view YouTube when I know what I want to watch.
I only watch a few leftist political channels on my account, and for most other political content I use incognito mode. Algorithm just gives me banal hobby stuff.
I've heard from some people that reporting a youtube video instantly demonetizes it, and demonetized videos usually get fucking buried, so why not just do that?

The "don't show channel" feature is a blessing. I have banished thousands of channels and my recommendations are all interesting DIY and creative builds, camping, retro tech, or vaguely based memes. Although since I got caught up with Jojo's a few weeks ago, it's been showing me a ton of edited Jojo meme videos too.
