I got a new laptop and connected it to a 85inch QN90A + Philips Hue gradient setup. The lights react to content on screen like this: https://youtu.be/OQNyvSbc50I?t=18
What are some movies that aren’t shit and with visually amazing dynamic action/scenes?
Edit: Holy shit fam thank you for all recommendations and i am working my way down from all the recommendations as I download every film recommended. I love you all!
not just visually beautiful, but it's also a fucking incredible movie, 100% my favorite action film of all time and incredibly rewatchable... so much fun
End of Evangelion but for all the wrong reasons :gigachad:
Dune 2021 is also pretty decent
I was going to rec EoE unironically too, its such a surreal movie and it deserves to be enjoyed on gucci gear if you've got it and can find a BluRay (or a rip).
Do some nature stuff like Attenborough documentaries while you're at it!
Avatar is made for the pretty screens, and Felix converted me on it.
Grand Budapest hotel. I love the vibes and color
The Matrix. Action scenes are amazing of course.
Susperia. Original not seen the new one
Mandy. Nic cage bloody adventure and great music and visuals
Event Horizon. Spooky haunted spaceship
The Fall is a beautiful movie. Like visually beautiful.
The Cell also has a lot of remarkable visuals.
Crickey you got me!
Seriously though if you haven't seen The Fall you really should it's just cinematography porn. The story is a guy stuck in a hospital telling a story to a little girl, so the narrative is choppy and disjointed and often nonesense, deliberately, and it works bcecause it's an excuse for these gorgeous set pieces.
That movie is so rad. Apparently Tarsem Singh mostly shot it on the sly in between doing other projects that paid the bills. Like Pepsi or whoever would be like "do us an arty commerical" and he'd be like "sure but it has to be done with this specific crew and we need to shoot on location in the salt flats of Tibet" and Pepsi would just be like "uhhh sure". Just did that for two years while smuggling a camera crew and bags of cash around until bam you have enough gorgeous shots to string together into a film about films.
Source - saw a goofy Q&A with a lowly production assistant at a late night screening hosted by Scroobius Pip
I like movies! I'll try to remember it when I'm stumped on what to watch.
the new Dune is visually stunning, but I think that the sound design is the star of the show, you gotta watch it LOUD
