Like, it is inevitable that it will happen occasionally but it really seems like a strog re-occuring theme and that is weird in ways I can't understand.
It clearly does, it just seems over represented as a fetish for rich people. Is there something about being rich that makes you want to be a pedophile? Or is it like, if you go to the pedophile club there are rich people in it and they spread the wealth so it becomes a pedo money network? The math doesn't add up to me.
That effect has been shown in lab studies. I dunno if a workable mechanism was proposed but the effect is strong in a lab setting. I'd imagine in a real world setting the would be worse
Most rich people are born rich, so plenty of time to be raised to believe you can do whatever you want to the poors. Like others said, I believe that being raised in an environment where you learn money fixes everything, and is mark of innate morality, I think you just kinda learn that whatever you want is okay to want. Who's gonna stop you?
Also, maybe it's a fallacy to assume every rich pedo is naturally attracted to children. We assume people have a natural repellance to harming children, but maybe that's not true when you're raised to believe that what you want is what should happen? Maybe to them, it's just fun to take advantage of humans in novel and taboo way, kinda like the perverse fun of having a slave.

Blackmail is a very effective way to control people, and pedophile rings are a great way to set them up for blackmail, so there’s a big incentive in pushing the rich and powerful (who are likely already prone to abusive/controlling behavior) in this direction.
I get that part but I don't think cracking open a boy with the cold ones is something you get peer pressured into. That one is not a little oopsie like doing a bup of coke at a party.

Feds aren't going to squeeze them, especially when it's other government agencies or influential groups who are running the rings in the first place. The only pressure they might face would come from the media, and they are getting pretty annoyed with that.
I think it's a combination of the rich pedophiles being able to find an industrial complex around their fetishes and the fact that it's incredibly easy to procure children and child pornography of you have that complex due to the total lack of support poor and orphaned children have.
There are a lot of pedophiles in the general population and it's by no means a rich only thing, but they have the means and power to turn it into an industry while a retired plumber or whatever doesn't.
