This scene would make a great movie of its own. Pete Buttigieg blankly staring ahead as he eats an entire meal, Chasten sobbing with his head on the table, 90 minutes long and they never make eye contact or say a word. An hour in Chasten regains his composure and starts to lift his head, but then Pete orders dessert and he goes back to crying.

The harder he loses, the harder libs will insist it's his turn to be President.

Now come on. Beto has to be brutally humiliated in the state of Texas every 18 months. It’s the only way he can maintain an erection.

counterpoint: chasten knew what he signed up for, and is either being a big baby, or is indulging in his role as aggrieved lover of a "great man"

He was a improv guy, which yeah, thats kinda lame, but nowhere near as painful as marrying a smeared xerox of Patrick Bateman.

It's a reference to another clip from the documentary when Pete asks Chasten if they can eat dessert before dinner (or something like that) and Chasten replies "It's date night, we can do whatever we want"

Normally I’d say we shouldn’t judge a relationship based on a video, but this is also a documentary made by Pete so…

Did he have a say in the final cut? Any idea? If the things we've been seeing the past few days are clips, then I can't imagine what the point of presenting all that to the public would be when they could easily recut it to make him come off....any way else, basically.

If he didn’t have control over the final cut then holy shit he is even worse at politics than we thought.

Yea get ready for the 1 party Republican's State. The remaining Democrats will be all too happy to triangulate against the left and offer them as a sacrifice. National unity baby!!

Dude, they called the civil war the "war of northern aggression" in the 90s in my rural southern school which is of course such bullshit. Also Lincoln could have had Hamlin as VP in 64 things could have been much different indeed . Someone was shouting out hell of presidents- I couldn't reccomend more

Compare that to the CRT frenzy from the freeze peach, facts don't care about your feelings, participation trophies, right wing , now getting mad that white people were actually bad in factual history and their grandson feels bad about it so must be sheltered from reality and history.

Yea. Who you think you're telling? That's all obvious. I was being sarcastic you nerd. I do give you an A+ for effort. Seriously in contemporary America the Democrats are dead and we're moving towards a one party state. Tbh it's probably the natural out come of a world absent of an alternative in the context of a dying empire. Republicans will sweep the midterms and through redistricting and controlling the house, the Senate, the courts and eventually the executive branches we will have a one party state. The psycho lib dems will totally side as a left wing inside of this new conservative government and fuck the left. That's my point. Btw reconstruction under Lincoln would have been totally different as he was changed by the war and his distrust of the southern aristocracy would have never reinstituted their franchise, imo.

I'm glad you wrote it. I found it really interesting. I have a passive to slightly active interest in the civil war. I haven't read too much into reconstruction though.
