Smh, this must be what his dispute with Kropotkin was about :marx-joker:
(Ironically, if I remember correctly there are actually pretty extensive passages on bread and working class nutrition in vol.1, due to the tendency for bakers to cut the flour with ash and all sorts of crap to save money)
Oh yeah that's the bread I was thinking of first, then I remembered that all bread is the best thing for scooping food into your mouth
You’re no longer living at home, you can eat how you damn well please.
:jesse-wtf:
if not at home, where are you living?
I think that's what they are getting at.
Missed opportunity to dunk on bougie pescatarians by including all the fancy fish & seafood cutlery like lobster tongs and fish knifes
each one is simply a tool for the food its meant to be used for, or foods are served around the utensils. places where chopsticks are prevalent meats and veggies are cut up into pieces that can be easily picked up by chopsticks. in usa you get a plate sized piece of meat and a fork and knife.
everywhere I know they eat soup with a spoon but they have all different types
im lactose intolerant so I eat cereal with a fork
Ancient Chinese people cooked on woks because it was more fuel efficient--this meant everything cut into small pieces to cook fast (also, Old Worlders didn't have access to huge hunks of meat)--because everything was small pieces, they could be eaten most easily with chopsticks, chopsticks are also way more efficient to produce
also, fork is easily the most pointless cutlery, especially if you're vegan. The only thing I can remember ever needing a fork for was to hold down slabs of meat while cutting them. Everything else can be done more easily with chopsticks
I tried to edit faster than you replied cause I felt like a dick saying that. but you rated hands on the same tier as spoon but would you eat a sandwich with a spoon?
ill take the L
knoon (or spife?) would be god-tier tho
well no it wouldn't be as you'd cut your tongue
This fails to consider the humble grapefruit spoon. Useful for many tasks, like uhhh eating other types of citrus with a sharp spoon.
hands are not the best cutlery I mainly eat soup. Also any sauces are terrible to eat with your hands
on the other hand if there's any lesson at all to take from the last year it's that not everyone washes their hands and of the ones that do only some do it properly. we didn't just switch to using cutlery for fun
You’re no longer living at home
The place where I have been living for a few years is not my home?
for a long time when i was younger i would only use spoons for cereal. im not quite as radical in my beliefs anymore, but forks are more versatile than spoons for sure. it's usually easier to stab than to scoop. and for something like soup, if you actually try a fork and eat the bits in there, you will see that in the end there is actually not much broth left at all. of course, getting the last bit of broth is impossible with a fork, but you may be surprised that it's actually feasible to eat soup with a fork.
If you use a bowl or a cup instead of a plate, you can just drink the broth. Spoons are for stews and for puddings that are too thick to just chug them.
If you can't eat it with chopsticks, fuck you coward. Absolute coward.
