yes yes i get it electoralism doesn't work. but having multiple political viable parties is better than just having these two shitty parties.

I think if the priority on the left is fighting fascism, then electoralism is a necessary evil we have to figure out at some point. Aunt Tifa is only effective at blocking fascist thuggery on the streets as long as the police remain neutral--once they join the fascists, then it's game over unless a popular front of some kind is in place within the political apparatus.

That doesn't mean voting for Biden--he's only going to accelerate the rise of fascism once Larry Summers instructs him to bail out the banks once again in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, instead of the people whose livelihoods were destroyed. I think the only sensible way to vote against fascism is to rally behind an independent workers party, like PSL, that is capable of stealing votes from the Dems. Enough votes that they will be forced to adopt worker-friendly policies that prevent the rise of fascism rather than exacerbate it.

The example I have in mind is in the 1930s when the Dems adopted the New Deal, partially to undercut the increasingly popular leftist parties of the US. The left eventually rallied behind the new deal, and that ended up providing an effective popular front against rising American fascism. A similar thing played out in France around this time.

IDK, what are people's thought on this?
