This is actually already happening and is being discussed in (neoliberal) think tanks for around 30 years. Of course the plan is not to give companies seats on the UN, but to slowly make the UN irrelevant in favour of (keyword) 'multi-stakeholder' organizations. A few months ago I found a bunch of good articles explaining what multi-stakeholderism is and examples of it in here: https://www.tni.org/en/search/dossiers/25513
Edit: I think I found out about this concept in Dardot & Laval's book The New Way of the World: On Neoliberal Society. It's in general a very good book.
Oh nonono, the stakeholders are governments, think thanks, 'citizen advocacy groups', and multinational corporations. Because all of those deserve a voice and equal weight when taking decisions. Sometimes national entrepreneurs and academic experts also have a voice. As advisors, since academics are not really stakeholders.
COVAX is a "multi-takeholder" 'initiative' you're very likely to be familiar with. As you know, the WHO is only one of the stakeholders. Other major stakeholders include CEPI, which was founded by Bill Gates, GAVI, which was also founded by Bill Gates, and ACT-Accelerator, which was, too, founded by Bill Gates.
There's that phrase again: global governance. Learn to spot it. There's no way a global governance will be any good for anyone but the plutocrat class.
Tekken is a weird series, but the one thing I think they got 100% right is that WWIII will be fought amongst the corporations.
It's Hideo Kojima's vision of the future in MGS4 but the nation-sized private military contractors are companies like amazon and facebook who now have armies and battle each other.
Yeah if the country collapsed and balkanized, what's stopping amazon or facebook or google from buying up parts of it and enacting their own country?
I wish Max Berry would write a sequel to Jennifer Government. Such a funny book
Well, we all know how good the United Nations is at holding its members accountable.
Give them a seat at the security council and veto privilege, do it, you won't, no balls
Imagine what would happen if they were given a seat. The power dynamics would be nuts. I don't think they could both exist in the same country.
