    I find it incredible that I can read report after report about the bill and people saying they will or won't pass the bill, and not have a single bill detail or critique of the contents of the bill anywhere. The media is filling these articles with no information.

      They're purposefully hiding what's in the bill - massive reductions in child poverty and meaningful climate action, both of which are supported by voters - for a reason. They want you focused on either the price tag or the palace intrigue around if it passes.

        There was a poll showing that most voters don't know what the child tax credit is, and if they did, most of them didn't support it, because why should my single-tax-dollars go to help children not starve? I don't have kids. We are a deeply selfish and conservative nation.

        e: Heart-breaking, the worst person you know, etc. I couldn't find the one that asked if they were aware what the CTC is and had like 40% of people receiving it not know what it was.
