This is apparently pretty common. Some chud offers a homeless guy $40 to clean his gutters. "It's a one hour job. That's $80,000 yearly!"

The chud lives five miles away. He might offer to drive the dude to his house, he might not. He definitely won't drive the dude back to his camp.

No sane person would take this offer, or get in a car with someone who offered it. But the chud's takeaway is that "I just saw a homeless person turn down a $40/hr job. That's more than I make! They obviously just don't want to work."

      It's way more, 365 days × 24 hours × $40 = $350,400 annually! smh these lazy homeless people

Lol it sounds like basic survival to not believe unrealistic job offers. I'd assume at best they're fucking with me, or they want to kill me.

Or, probably their most common experience, they go do the job and then don't get paid.

Calling them chuds is optimistic. Every homeless related post on reddit is filled with "I'm very progressive but don't want to see dirty drug addicts everytime I go for a jog in the park".

My local city sub was fucking unbearable. Just endless posts about "looking for a nice safe (code word for white) place to live I have a $2000 month budget" and I'm over here struggling to pay $600 a month and apparently where I love is "literally uninhabitable" like ok

"Well, see, they turned down a $7 an hour job as a waiter, and that one person once got $50k as a tip, so technically he turned down a $80k job."

Really wish people would start pressuring the "do something about the homeless!" types to see if they're misguided pro-development morons or just fully genocidal

In my experience with this you absolutely see both and the prevalence of one over the other varies a ton from place to place.

The fully genocidal types being the more common viewpoint within this thinking is beneficial to the left since they're easier to sideline.

i cant even look at /r/seattle anymore. you'd think one of the more liberal cities in the country wouldn't be so full of chuds but you'd be wrong. it's endless pro-cop and conservative brain dead arguments

It's true I offer homeless people six figure salaries all the time and got no takers

This being true reflects far more poorly on the system than those refusing to participate in it

Solution? Murder them or keep building more housing. The price will go down eventually!
