If you don't know what you are looking at, it's a notice to the Antioch Police Department to arrest the shithead for killing people in Kenosha.

Right wing press is going to blow this kid up into a hero. He's going to live on the residuals of this for the rest of his life.

Yeah, they are going to make an example of hinm to avoid pig connection with the militia and to dissuade vigilantism in the future. That is my take, at least.

I've heard that the Kenosha cops literally questioned him and let him go last night, not sure through. From the police scanner last night it sounded like they were chasing the wrong guy (a black guy of course) after the shooting as well.

There is footage of him walking straight past the police line to his car immediately after shooting the second two people

I didn't think this would possibly stick but preemptively fleeing across state lines might do it

    Looks like he got arrested

Is there any evidence that they "shot him seven times?"

I think that was a quote from Jacob Blake senior about his son. Its weirdly worded in the article.

oh, my mistake. I thought it was Rettenhouse's dad. I'm obviously reading through all these posts too fast. Thank you for clarifying.

Yeah, it seemed like they were close to getting the gun from him. This is just so fucking sad and infuriating. I hope there's no way for this guy to get away with it. I can see defense twisting it into fearing for his life.

After shooting the first protester, you could say the crowd rightfully thought he was a threat and attempted to disarm him. They were within their rights to kill him, if we're talking about self defense here, but I doubt we'll hear that.

So what’s the lesson there? Was it a fuck up to charge him and try to get the gun? When tragedy happens if we don’t at least learn from it then it’s all for nothing

Agreed with all your disclaimers. The problem was that people did not preplan and train for this situation. You can see that some tried to grab the gun, but cause of the light and missing experience with gun belts (English isn't my first language), they were confused by not being able to draw the gun away from him.

Thus they ought to bring the weapon to the ground and fixate it, so that he can't properly utilize it. However there is a good chance it fails, or that he got a knife on himself, which would just made him stab you.

Him not being arrested likely means that he was able to delete incriminating material on his phone, his room and computer.

In self defense courses the main lesson for encounter with peoples with guns was: get way as good as you can, by running, dodging, hiding – you don't want to charge a person brandishing a short arm.

However if it is necessary to do courses and talk about what to do in such situations seems to be necessary and needs an update.

Are you sure you aren't conflating them with the guy who got shot that kicked off the protests in the first place

Honestly, everyone in his party nearby who was armed should be charged with felony murder.

felony murder is a law where if the cops show up while you're committing a felony and they shoot your girlfriend in front of you, you can be charged with their murder of your girlfriend, because it "WoUlDn'T hAvE HaPpEnEd" if you weren't doing the felony

Also I still stand by my post earlier today that those killed won't see justice. There's a bunch of ways he could wriggle out of this after being arrested (which I don't think he has yet). Though it is also possible that the state will not appreciate someone trying to break their monopoly on violence and throw him under the bus even if he is working in their interests. In which case it doesn't matter anyway, things are still fucked no matter what happens.

That's the craziest part of this entire thing. The almost cinematic comparison between a black man being shot 7 times in the back for trying to get in a car, and a white kid carrying an assault rifle he just shot three people with being allowed to flee the scene and drive home.
