There is probably a bit of sexual pathology in their fantasies about beating women, tbh.

Oh yeah absolutely. You'd think if they hated women they'd fantasize about them being ugly monsters or something, but they're that deranged

Can't help but think it's an extension of that weird juvenile thing where boys are little shits to girls for no reason and fling boogers at them

Such a weird society where young people can't just be allowed to tell someone else that they like them. This kind of behavior is the kid version of PUA negging or w/e it's called that dorks do today.

And even then, they have raging hormones and immaturity contributing to that. These are grown men who should be used to those feelings by now.

"A bit"? I always thought it was 100% sexual pathology, domestic abusers don't pick friends nor random people on the street to beat them, they pick their partners.

Traditional macho male sexuality is based on dominating women, and physically assaulting them is just one more form of that

Aren't there like three different popular subreddits that are just videos of men beating up women, where the woman is assumed to have done something wrong, and all the comments are all just different versions of "this is what you get if you want equality", typed one-handed?

I never understood that logic from misogynists. Men don't randomly beat the shit out of each other for no reason, and if they do, it often results in an assault charge. The exception I can think of is teens fighting about stupid things, drunken brawls or fighting over sports teams but like... Women fight when they're drunk too. Women fight a lot actually. Hell, I fought dudes when I was a dumb teen and I didn't always lose either.

I honestly don't know what these dudes think women are?

I think a lot of guys operate half in imagination where they fantasize about going John Wick and just destroying everyone in a room at any given moment. I think they also assume they have physical superiority over anyone they don't like. The actual fighting doesn't matter, just the results of hypothetical fights.

Hell I've known guys who have lost fights and would still swear they could beat up the other guy even though the results said otherwise.

A lot of men do grow up beating the shit out of each other for basically no reason. I grew up in a family of all brothers. One of my older brothers has two girls and a boy now, and the level of sheer physical violence we were allowed to get up to on each other over stupid kid shit because "boys will be boys" (we'd get into full-on wrestling matches with punches and kicks and generally only be called out if anyone went for the face) versus how quickly my nephew/nieces get called out by their grandparents and parents for like, pulling on something they want aggressively, really served as a "oh shit this is why society is like this" check for me.

They just know they've been told they're especially "not allowed to a hit a girl" and they resent being told what to do even if they never listened to it to begin with.

I used to unironically be a misandrist, but I realized it goes against my communist beliefs to judge every potential masc comrade based off some (many) shitty dudes. I'm sympathetic to someone who says they're a misandrist these days, but I'd suggest there are other ways of dealing with toxicity

Same. Emotional immaturity is extremely common in men and typically combined with toxic masculinity. Especially with cis men because they have typically never experienced overt sexism. Most trans men I know have significantly healthier understandings of their manhood because they often have had to intentionally process their gender identity.

I'm also aware that's a whole line of discourse as well and it's something I need to read more trans-men's thoughts on. I have a trans-masc friend who struggled with misogyny after finding that it relieved his gender dysphoria. It's something I've been mulling over recently as a gender fluid trans person who shifts between being nonbinary and a woman.

This turned into a mini rant, sorry about that. :oh-shit:

My cousins describe themselves as "masculists" who hate what they call toxic femininity. One of the things they claim to be against is how it's socially unacceptable to strike a woman for being annoying. I asked for more examples of toxic femininity and they said when your wife won't do the laundry.

The weirdest part of this to unpack, for me at least, is that I would think the majority of these misogynists would also be pretty racist and yet here they are celebrating a black man beating up a white woman.

    I don't think I want to understand.

It ticks multiple boxes for them. Seeing a women get humiliated and seeing a black person "acting savage harming a defenceless woman"

It also validates the idea that "See? Delicate weak feeemales need us to protect them from the evil brutish blacks."

It's just a whole lot of gross

Having multiple, parallel hierarchies, so you can selectively choose which one matters at any given moment, is a key feature of the kyriarchy.

racism is the aggressive manifestation of the sexual pathology

but sometimes, the sexual pathology accidentally slips through

(CW: racial slurs) another instance of the sexual pathology slipping through
basically this, but with Black men instead

the sexual pathology exists, racism is a defense/reaction to the pathology, and sometimes the pathology unwittingly reveals itself. many such cases!

the pathology is an abnormal fear of being "cucked", whether it's overtly sexual (anti-miscegenation laws to prevent black men from taking MY women) or economic (the 3rd world is eating our lunch!!!1) or social (I saw an X ethnicity person the other day this WOKE SHIT IS TAKINV OVER)

in all of those cases, there's literally zero reason to be fearful, even a negative reason if anything, but they still actually are legitimately fearful. Its like a rich person who actually believes that the poor are living it up.

the pathology is the innate fear and insecurity in these people, the hatred is a reaction to this innate emotion.

I feel like a fully enlightened society would be a step beyond weight classes. Imagine arranging athletes into leagues based on a combination of metrics, from muscle mass to VO2 max to age to height to bone density, with different competitions putting different weights on each facet of physical fitness (ie combat sports prize pure strength to a higher degree than track and field).
