    Never ask:

    A woman - her age

    A man - his salary

A millionaire entrepreneur - Who their parents are

Company 1: lemonade stand Company 2: black market insulin subscriptions

The latter grew very organically out of the former

The infant came out of the words showing a gang sign, and her first words were "born to hustle".

She came out with a brilliant business idea at the tender age of 6 and now receives almost $40,000/mo in federal credits for teenagers with small businesses, making her the single fastest growing businesswoman under 16 in the tri-state area.

You could be as rich as her, too, if you just had her kind of Randian commitment to excellence.

Capitalism— so easy a ten year old can do it. Not working for you? Must be a personal failure. Go back to your hovel, you get what you deserve

The funniest idea of wealth is the idea that you can retire upon it. I say this because history is full of people violently defending their wealth. You want a bunch of money? You better invest in a safe. Or walls around your citadel. Whatever example, etc etc.

Rulers would invite sages and mages and holy men to give them tinctures and treatments to keep them alive. They would embalm their bodies and organs and festoon their burial chambers with worldly goods.

The only true leisure and happiness is knowing that nobody is going to come for you. You achieve this by elevating your peers so that you are thus elevated. Nothing about the way the current economy is structured will achieve this. You are doomed to spend the rest of your life snarling atop your hoard.

Oh, so you spent your youth amassing wealth? Prepare to spend your adulthood agonizing over its management, and voting for and endorsing measures that use the violence of poverty upon your peers to keep you in your station. Or even shouldering a firearm so you can use violence to personally defend it. Congratulations. Sounds very stress-free. Great retirement.

Edit: lol I wrote horde instead of hoard

Nah, the cops will protect the material wealth with fascist zeal and it's trivial for someone this connected (read: with wealthy parents) to find some guy to manage their finances well enough. It's not stressful or difficult to be rich.

Yeah, that is mostly just coping. But I do think that when you get rich enough to bend light around you, life starts to get worse in many ways.

Zuckerberg and Bezos, for instance, have a full security team in the room with them when they are having meetings inside their own company. Because they can't trust their own fucking employees to not stab their eyes out with a pencil.

I don't know, maybe they eventually get used to it. But I imagine that it takes a toll on you, leaving a meeting in the building that you own followed by 10 bodyguards, passing the bullet-proof glass into your office then closing the blast-resistant door behind you.

I think this mind set is what sets us apart from a lot of chuds and libs. You don't even need to be empathetic (it helps though) to want a better life for those around you. What is the point in having a sea front mansion with sports cars if outside is a mad max hellscape with roads you can't drive on, you need constant security protection and the sea is full of chemicals so you can't even swim.

I want to live somewhere I don't have to feel shitty about people having no food or worried people might rob me more than I want a cinema room with massaging seats.

        I know right?

Meanwhile the ruling class just thinks the sea being full of chemicals is a good thing because that way the girls can't even attempt to escape from the island. :epsteingelion:

This is the one thing the late Fargo show underlined, that one guy who was so stressed by the working class that they destroyed themselves, unable to form any kind of connection with others.
