"Please, for the love of God, do not vote for us. We need to lose, so we can fund raise on being the underdog good guys! Please oh please don't vote for us. We'll do whatever you don't want, we'll make it harder to vote, we'll give massive amounts of money to the military and none to you, we'll cave on literally every point of our campaign promises. We promise, we will be just the worst if you don't vote for us. We need to be losers for this thing to work"

Trump screwed up that badly to get Biden elected, like that's amazing when you think about it. Without covid he would have ate Joe for breakfast.

Why do you think his numbers grew among PoCs? This tax season, you’re going to see a lot of stories about how families are mad that their refund checks were smaller due to that child tax credit every month. And guess who is going to be the most affected and most vulnerable?

I think I’m mentally prepared for him taking office again.

        Wait no this still sucks

Trump was a huge boon to the GOP. He gave them a kind of legitimacy they'd struggled to claim since Reagan left office.

But he was paddling upstream in a country that was trending bluer with every election cycle. He squeaked by in 2016 on razor thin margins (just like Bush in '00) and lost the "I hate incumbents" vote, despite enjoying some of the biggest turnout in GOP history.

Biden is going to reverse 40 years of aggregated Dem gains inside a single two year cycle. By the time he's out of office, Republicans won't need to bother with gerrymandering, because Dems will be out like the Whigs of 1860.

i mean black voter participation has consistently been lower than that of white people. also the political challenge before the radical left isn't actually participation in the voting process since, vote or no vote, there's not yet a revolutionary movement of the working class that people can channel their energy through.

For what purpose? I knew that either Trump or Biden had it in the bag. What sense would it have made to go out and brave covid to do a write in for a party that get less than 1% of the vote?

An activist who counts on getting 20 votes will be emboldened if they get 200, even if they still lose. See it as a possibility to give good people a thumbs up.

It is also a way of registering dissent. You didn't stay home because you were too stupid and lazy to go to the polls. You went and you voted against the two state-sponsored parties. Ideally third party votes will rob democrats of some victos. They will be even more pissed off when they find out they lost because enough people wrote in the Donald Duck Party instead of voting for them.

Then why shame black people for voting Dem when you yourself won't vote for alternatives?

Because it's disgusting that democrats cynically use black voters as a tool while doing nothing to meaningfully aide them. My advice, to literally everybody, is to STOP voting. Full stop, period. Stop giving support to electoralism.

Not supporting electoralism means the communist parties shouldn't spend their time and energy trying to win votes or changing their program to appeal to more voters. It doesn't mean you shouldn't vote for a communist party.

Electoralism is one of the reason why many communist parties diluted and destroyed their own programs, but no communist party, principled or otherwise was ever like "don't vote for us". That's just defeatism and laziness.

Please read "Leftwing communism" by Lenin. I'm a leftcom and it's so funny people tell me to read this book without ever reading it themselves.

Voting hardly takes a few hours. In terms of hours invested vs potential result it is one of the best things you can do.

Next time, vote for the communist party, wherever you are, regardless of chances of winning.

how is this their fucking line on it? "oh yeah the gop might be using elaborate measures up to and including literacy tests and poll taxes to swing things in their favor, but we're not gonna do anything about it because we're confident it won't work. so if we lose, we lose fair and square." they really want to see that 30% turnout election

Democrats will lose in 2022 and blame black people for not voting. Republicans will get a larger share of the black vote in 2024 than at any time in the last century. Democrats will insist this proves they need to tack farther to the right. Things will get worse.
