Almost no liberal understands that Obama and Hillary (and now Biden) created the circumstances that made Trump possible. There's nothing to learn. Trying to understand the reasons why rightwingers come to power and admitting there was a logic to their ascent is seen as endorsing the rightwingers.
I remember my mom telling me Biden was going to ban fracking. When I reminded her that there was record oil and gas extraction when he was vice president she said something like "he isn't like that anymore."
But Biden didn't promise to get anything done.
He was elected to get one thing done: not be Donald Trump. He's already fulfilled that promise so that's a 100% success rate for his presidency.
