I usually get a few scam calls every day but in the last week or so it's increased exponentially. For example: I've received 19 in the past 6 hours. Just curious if this is happening to everyone or just me.
Of the 36 phone calls I've received since the start of the year only 3 of them have been real ass human beans.
This shit's been bad for years for me, I suspect the longer you hold on to a phone or number the more places it gets "stuck" and the more registers it gets added to etc.
Not at the moment. It goes through phases though, I'll go months at a time without any spam calls and then somehow my number gets into rotation again and I get dozens a week for a few weeks. I think they just rotate through lists
I get the Customs and Border Patrol scam once a month or so, but that's it.
I recently answered an unknown number due to waiting on medical test results, and now I'm back on Their List 😩
don't do it comrades, always just wait for the voicemail...
what I've been getting is tons of those stealth spam texts with pretend shit like "Where do you want to meet tomorrow, [name that's not mine]?" sometimes accompanied by a picture of a woman
Joshua, this is Mary with Rentals America. Do you have time to talk?
Whenever I get a random number texting me asking something like that I just tell them to eat shit.
On my old # I used to but now I use the textfree app for voip calling and I've yet to get any, maybe I just lucked out.
I don't get any... Possibly because i'm on Google Fi, which blocks known spam calls automatically.
I have stopped answering my phone unless someone is in my contacts
Not right now, but I used to get them. There are so many solar scam calls that I sometimes want the Republicans to end the tax subsidy just for them to try a different scam.
No more than normal, usually like one or two a day.
Though, I've been unemployed for a few months now and the amount of scam jobs I see is insane. I get so many emails all with the exact same wording and I feel like 50% of the jobs on LinkedIn are fake. There was a day last fall where I got 20 calls/texts from people from the same company wanting to schedule an interview... It was all within 15 minutes of each other, all different numbers leaving voicemails. Weird shit.
I feel like 50% of the jobs on LinkedIn are fake.
Take this with a grain of salt cuz I only learned this recently and haven't looked into it, but apparently that's literally true. Some companies will continually post and repost listings for jobs that don't actually exist. I'm still hazy on why exactly. I was told it was so that they would appear to be growing at all times, but again, take it with a grain of salt.
I get at least one every day, but not exponential growth.
Recently, I've gotten a new infuriating variant where they rapid-fire call me and leave as many two second voicemails as possible until I answer or block the number.
Also getting way too many political donation solicitation texts, but thankfully my messaging app puts them in the spam folder automatically.
weirdly no. my dad gets them all the time but the rare unwanted calls i get are always silent.
