It's so rare nowadays that a big budget movie still gives a fuck about basic things like "show, don't tell" or about proper setup and payoff. Watching it was so full of "this is what they took from you" moments.
It's super cool that it exists, but I couldn't imagine watching it myself, the original film just does so much beautiful shit with it's color palette it's amazing.
Like, how do you go and make a movie about violent BDSM psychos in a post-apocalyptic hellscape that looks more beautiful than any other movie released in the last twenty years?!
The opening is so unsubtle and and to the point the story telling is so efficient in the movie i love it
