Not sure if this was posted here or not, I guess it doesn't really matter because it's just more racist Reddit bull, but if you feel like spiking your blood pressure then check out this top of /r/all unpopular opinion post from yesterday " I’m so fucking tired of being forced to care about everything all at once " which is literally some white dickhead mad he has to care about black people and brown people and Trump and coronavirus.
The poster/commenters then claim it's toxic to suggest that this view is, charitably, White Privilege. The fact that because they are (statistically speaking) some coder from a white suburb means they can look away from the horror and trauma of our white supremacist capitalist society. They don't have to live with it every day. And that's to say nothing of the ravages of imperialism abroad. Is it so hard to care? To just have a little empathy for your fellow man?
One of the commenters straight up says they're "not going to go out and march for black lives" as if that's such a burden and that they "have my vote" as if that matters. Surely the ultimate failure of the black liberation movement, the fact that black people faced a century of Jim Crow and three centuries of slavery, the fact that black people are still so oppressed today is proof that voting won't change anything.
I’m so fucking tired of being forced to care about everything all at once
"The last man (German: Letzter Mensch) is a term used by the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche in Thus Spoke Zarathustra to describe the antithesis of his theorized superior being, the Übermensch, whose imminent appearance is heralded by Zarathustra. The last man is the archetypal nihilist, only able to destroy, but unable to build and act upon a self-actualized ethos.
Nietzsche warned that the society of the last man could be too barren and decadent to support the growth of healthy human life or great individuals. The last man is only possible by mankind having bred an apathetic person or society who loses the ability to dream, to strive, and who become unwilling to take risks, instead simply earning their living and keeping warm. "
Well that's too bad for him because this shit is just getting started lol. Capitalism is collapsing, the American empire is collapsing and everybody is in for a wild ride. These people think that everything will go back to normal once biden is elected and that everyone is going to go back to playing pokemon go and making banana bread. In five years he's going to look at 2020 as the good old days.
