There is not really a distinction here, it's american produced goods competing with chinese produced goods which obviously affects the people doing the producing.
Real question is, if they believe truly chinese goods are produced with slave labor will they do the what follows logically and make the obvious ethical move of banning importation of those goods? We ofc know they will will not as the treats must flow.
