But you're right that this is about growth of the brand and followers more than anything actually good. The emtore twitch/youtube ecosystem funnels people into obsession over metrics. That's not to say that metrics aren't important, growth is good when it's good growth, but the tunnel vision it creates in a lot of people drives them into becoming consumed by the system.
