I really like 'Alvin and the Chipmunks 4: The Road Chip', at first I was watching it ironically until I realised that it was somehow actually funny. It's a combination of unintentional humour (like how they could afford to hire the guy from LMFAO (pictured) to have a two or three minute speaking role as himself and to promote the film but couldn't afford to have him play any of LMFAO's actual music), rubbish intended humour that's become ironically funny now that the films been out for half a decade and is quite dated (theodore twerking to baby got back) and jokes that were funny in of themselves all along (the chipmunks getting put on a no fly list as suspects in a terrorist attack).

Somehow the film manages to pull it all off and actually achieves its aims despite it having the lowest budget of all the films and seeming the most like a cynical last ditch cash grab made just before the 'franchise' became entirely irrelevant.

So what garbage tier films do you really like?

I will always love Commando because it has the objectively best one liner set up and punch line and the sheer amount of people Arnold kills probably one of the highest I've ever seen. It's also fun to pair and compare to an actually good Arnold movie (Predator).

    The star wars prequels.

Edit: Also, not a movie, but I still want to mention early abridged series. They aren't good, and some of the jokes aged incredibly poorly, but I am not immune to littlekuriboh doing a shitty brooklyn accent.

Ngl, the first movie I thought of when I saw this thread was Revenge of the Sith. It's an awful, hilarious movie that somehow still hits a lot of the emotional points of that story. And Hayden Christensen did pretty good, given the dogshit script he had to work with.

Good Burger, the 1997 Nickelodeon movie with Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell (and Abe Vigoda, and Sinbad). It's really stupid but I love it. It has basically the same plot as Dodgeball but with burgers instead of gyms.

I wanna say Shoot Em Up but it does succeed at being a hilarious pseudo-parody of action films.

I hope you're not just another pussy with a gun in your hand...

There's a literal sex scene-shootout where the main protag is fucking Monica Belluci and she's moaning in orgasm as he shoots like 20 guys in the head. It's great fun.

A promotional video for the film was released on YouTube in which the company claimed to test a bulletproof stroller by shooting at it with a submachine gun while a baby was in it. The baby was then removed from the stroller unharmed. The hoax campaign was taken seriously by global media and the blogging community; Aftonbladet, Sweden's largest evening tabloid, carried the story on its online edition for some time.

    A Few Good Men.

It's a shitlib imperialist film written by shitlib hack Aaron Sorkin, but the character work and the courtroom drama aspects are so goddamn entertaining. It ends by removing almost all guilt from the murderous thugs Tom Cruise [celeb Scientologist] is defending, but the path to the ending, complete with Jack Nicholson's insane narcissistic monologue, is really fun. Demi Moore gets way less respect than she deserved for her role, the whole script was basically stacked against her. But I still love it despite its many, MANY issues.

“Head of State,” in which Chris Rock, rather reluctantly runs for president. This is after the untimely death of the original presidential candidate late in the election cycle. I have a soft spot for non-Tyler perry comedies with majority Black casts from the early aughts.

I actually like the Dungeons and Dragons movie. I know it's a shit movie, but it really does get the vibe of a half baked tabletop campaign where the DM is flailing between letting his players do what they want and hard railroading them so that at least some of his prep is saved, despite the massive plot holes.

The best part of that movie is Jeremy Irons - he doesn't just chew the scenery in it, he skips lunch and goes to the all-ypu-can-eat scenery buffet for dinner. Worth watching just to see how much acting can come out of one person.

    Fred The Movie

IDK why, I remember I saw it as a kid and really liked it for some reason despite it being regarded a univerally awful TV film for kids from a universally hated YouTuber who even I didn't like at the time

this applies to most of the wachowski sisters' filmography for me, but in particular Jupiter Ascending. i recognize its flaws (kind of useless protagonist, poorly mixed dialogue, confusing plot), but I love the sheer ambition, the panache, the 10 new ideas in every scene. it's a very ADHD movie.

The Underworld films, the Blade films, and maybe the 2004 Van Helsing. I'm just a fucker for stuff with mythical beasts in.

Actually the recent Netflix Van Helsing fits into this quite well too, but unlike the others it gets better as it goes on.

Edit: and the Scary Movie films. Watched them as a young 'un, and still find them kind of funny
