edit: I can't find their specific Christmas Lana, but this is the one she linked in her minting announcement: (sfw-ish, bad cartoon in lingerie) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FHepskOWUAEf6Fi?format=jpg&name=large

So let me try to understand this

Someone bought "exclusive" rights to a picture of a cartoon version of a porn star for 4000$. Why did they think they'd make money of this? Is this the dumbest shit ever envisioned? Did I miss something? What?

      ugh. Normies.

Someone INVESTED in an OPPORTUNITY to GET RICH FASTER THAN YOU CAN by buying one of 6069 cartoon versions of a porn star for $4000 (https://opensea.io/collection/officialcryptosis?search[sortAscending]=true&search[sortBy]=PRICE). When the Crypto Sis roadmap is complete (https://www.cryptosisnft.io/#roadmap), they'll receive exclusive benefits. A business education from unnamed rich people, free advertisement on the Lana Rhoades social media accounts, mainstream females building a bigger movement than you can imagine, and one lucky owner will get the chance to meet a real white South African.

Somehow it's maybe worse. I misspelled Cecil Rhodes' name in my head and went looking to see if they were related. That's only her stage name, her actual surname being Maple which is decidedly un-Afrikaaner and her hometown being Chicago which is a different apartheid state. So that means she specifically changed her name to Rhoades and then moved to South Africa for some reason.

Nah, their dad just invested in their future. When Lana Rhoades NFTs allow you to wear Bunny-Breasts-Pink-#7 in the Metaverse at the official Lana Rhoades hangout, it will probably be worth like $2m. Maybe $5m depending on the rarity.

This kind of person is your typical crypto / NFT mark. They know it's a get-rich-quick scheme, a form of gambling, but there's just enough technical bullshitting and jargon that convinces them they aren't the mark, they'll be able to sell to another one before it tanks.

Not-so-hot take is that this is the same motivation for people that join MLMs. People who have just enough money that they feel they could maybe invest some of it but who are still in a precarious financial position and have no idea what else to do. People who want a bit of agency and fall into a paper-thin "grindset" trap.

My immediate reaction to anyone losing money on crypto is to laugh, but I think it's good to remind ourselves that (most of) these people are created by a degradation in conditions under capitalism, by desperation and a psychology with which they are relentlessly bombarded, and that they are fairly average people and not your typical chud. In a better system, NFTs and crypto would be outlawed as a con artist's game / money laundering outfit and these people would be considered victims of a scam. Greedy victims.

my roommate is a professional poker player. Its his actual job and he doesnt even play with his own money.

He also does NFT shit for the gamble and it seems to be going very well for him in this regard, but he also spends an ungodly amount of time on various discords figure out which ones he thinks are busts or not. I assume this is not the case with most people as gambling mfers are more times than not, dumb as rocks.

You can absolutely get good at gambling. The idea for casinos and such is to make make sure that enough people are not good at it to keep the house making money.

Also you can just ban them lol

Each Tokenized Lana is algorithmically generated with special accessories which will all contribute to the creation of each unique piece.

did not realize that they were just outright stating these are randomized shitty picrews now. very cool that all this money and effort goes into this instead of something definitely less worth while, like you know, feeding and housing other human beings.

It's becoming a regular read for me. Especially for watching the same people repeatedly scam the same people using different cartoon animals.
