How is this even a real concept. What's the ideology at work here?
People who think that fiscal policy and civil rights policy are two different things, mostly
Symbolically supporting marginalized people while materially fucking them over. The very essence of Democrat-style liberalism.
socially stupid, economically intelligent
fiscally stupid, socially intelligent
im taking a hard right at communism road
it's just pure liberalism. It means that the guy in question wants everyone to have equal opportunity to be homeless and starving, or be billionaires if they strike gold on a dumb app.
it's when one doesn't believe capitalism is responsible nor influences things like racism, homophobia, transphobia, nor that it makes people homeless
those things are somehow the result of government overreach. The ideology is liberalism and a belief that poverty is a personal, moral failure.
Remember the whole "virtue signalling" meme from two years ago? This is what actual virtue signaling looks like.
It's when you just have one or two struggle sessions when you're out with friends.
Also I think it’s a cope, it’s always like “classic liberals” and “libertarians” that say it and I think they realize they are surrounded by fascists and bigots but don’t have the balls to acknowledge that they are one too
When I was a teen, I was this.
Basically, I thought we could get gay marriage and lower rates of hate crimes if we just bribed people with economically populist ideas to leave their favorite punching bags alone. 99% of people get the economic policies THEY want, I get the social policies I want.
That was my train of thought lol.
