the Houthis haven't stopped a single ship bound for or from Israel

Eilat port, famously profitable in the past few months

The thing is they don't need to stop ships specifically bound for Israel, they just have to target enough US and Israeli shipping that insurance companies refuse to cover ships passing through the strait. Financial capital unwittingly ends up enforcing 90% of the blockade.

People seem really confident in their opinions on a group they probably hadn't even heard of before like a month ago and who operate in a country thousands of miles away and speak a language few westerns speak.

See, Houthis only care about their personal political games and only put on airs about caring for others, unlike America that’s defending global liberty and democracy

You see, the Houthi skull is not shaped well enough to have principles and moral stances

Tbf the comments mentioned they usually do this with transphobe comments and such, but I stopped listening to the episode just to be sure.

WTYP pins a lot of bad comments ironically, like they pinned a pro-Elon comment on their most recent video. Boy I hope that's the case here.

edit: okay I listened to the segment in question and WTYP didn't say anything uncool. This is definitely an ironic dunk pin.

Yeah I haven't listened in a long time either, I just had to check this specific thing out because I couldn't imagine the crew going full US State dept on Yemen even if they do tend to that to AES.

hey just to be clear, I live in a fantasy land where the struggle between amorphous forces of "good" and "evil" is binary and completely real. I've never examined my beliefs nor considered that all of the media I consume is unanimous in stating that Palestinians' lives are worth less than a dog's. I'm pretty confident that "finding opportunities to perform acts of antisemitism" is a real thing evil people just do.

They usually use pins like a dunk tank post. Have they been reactionary on the Yemeni blockcade before?

The strikes were followed by further attacks on shipping in the Red Sea, targeting those headed to the port of Eilat. In December, it was reported by the CEO of the port that following the Houthi attacks, shipping activity to the port has dropped by 85%.[
