The folks over at /r/anarchism are mass upvoting a list of "marine tactics" that includes shit like poisoning wells as you retreat. Why couldn't they be mass upvoting the news about defection in the Russian military and Russian anti war protests? What happened to "No war between nations, no peace between classes?"

      poisoning wells as you retreat

Killing civilians and rendering communities uninhabitable for a generation or more in order to Own The Ruskies?

      Big Liberalism Hours.

It was written by a marine so it makes sense from that perspective. You poison some wells, declare mission accomplished, and then you can get on a plane and be at Applebee's in 24 hours. Who cares about the people that have to actually live in the place you "liberated".

The left in the US cannot exist until the state crumbles

It isn't even possible to build a coherent opposition to war. At this point I'm on the mutual aid bandwagon again, not because it'll create anything that can progress as a challenge to capital but because it might keep more of us alive for when the time to build comes.

(Jokes aside I do think that we're significantly more likely to see socialism in the US within our lifetime than whatever fash takeover the same people begging the US to intervene in Ukraine are worried about)

It's been really bizarre seeing people (to be honest, dumb boys) do all these Gigachad memes about "omg this based Ukrainian pilot shot down 20 Russians" and "the Ukrainian President is such an alpha for staying to defend his country" & not seeing how intimately that rhetoric is both linked to war & the prolonging of them. It's not heroic, it's just sad. They're literally not even letting Ukrainian men leave the country.

I mean, they oppose war in Yemen, the Israeli occupation, all that, their stumbling block is when the US writes up a good underdog story.

Given how much importance has been given to Zelensky being Jewish, and how much anti-Russia propaganda focuses on calling Russia fascist or neo-nazi, it feels like a really bad idea to literally have Ukranians poisoning wells for the invading troops to get sick by, like you're literally inviting medieval antisemitism.
