The Tankieday Clock is a symbol representing how close humankind is to experiencing the mainstream appropriation of "Tankie"
Russian Aggression on the European Continent that we have not seen since World War 2.
I fucking swear, Stalin should not have stopped at Berlin. When will the Nazi propaganda stop??? :agony-shivering:
Yes WW2 was definitely Russian aggression. Love to do some literal Nazi apologism cause the DSA criticized NATO :agony-consuming:
Damn there's really no room in this conversation for any sort of nuance. We been propagandized to hell.
Does anyone else think the Doomsday Clock isn’t a very helpful measurement of time until nuclear horror when it’s been on 11:59 PM for decades now?
Well until nuclear physics was discovered, the clock was as low as it gets at 12:01am. It took Einstein discovering that one equation to push it up all the way to 11:00pm. Then the first nuke being tested put the hand up to 11:50pm and from there we reached 11:59pm when the United States nuked Japan. I think this is a pretty fair way of measuring it to be honest.
a percentage out of 100 seems like it would allow more discrete measurements. I'd say we're at like, 98 out of 100.
That may be, but people love using our everyday methods of keeping time as metaphors. Another popular one involves comparing the current age of the universe to a calendar year. Apparently if we consider this moment right now to be 12:00am on new years day, then the evolution of humans took place milliseconds ago. Wild stuff, really captures the imagination.
You can’t convince me there’s any hope left for Americans :stalin-smokin:
America is a realm of psychic emptiness. There is nothing at its core.
I am deeply concerned
Is there any phrase more nauseatingly PMC than this?
The statement they are mad at. This statement was written by the International Committee. Most of it is condemning Russia, yet it still isn't enough for some people.
a level of Russian Aggression on the European Continent that we have not seen since World War 2
remind me, who was Russia being so aggressive against in WWII?
