Many people already feel fear and anxiety obout the coronavirus (COVID-19). The threat of a nuclear explosion can add additional stress.

Hope they don't accidentally set off those alarms like they did in Hawaii in 2018. Pretty sure that would straight up kill me.

I was more thinking of those cold war warning when they would detect missile launches so you'd have at best 10 minutes after hearing the warning

Oh yeah. That reminds me of tornado siren warnings. I've lived in towns where they tested them weekly and it always scared the shit out of me

Why is all that COVID stuff in there? Feels like it was copy and pasted from the last disaster lol.

Please social distance while waiting for the missiles to arrive

If your county has been leveled by atomic weaponry, consider engaging with your community virtually to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Holy shit, I was just joking but then I look at the site and they literally do say to social distance while you wait for the missiles to arrive

If warned of an imminent attack, immediately get inside the nearest building and move away from windows. This will help provide protection from the blast, heat, and radiation of the detonation.

When you have reached a safe place, try to maintain a distance of at least six feet between yourself and people who are not part of your household. If possible, wear a mask if you’re sheltering with people who are not a part of your household. Children under two years old, people who have trouble breathing, and those who are unable to remove masks on their own should not wear them.

Meanwhile if the missiles aren't coming, pretend like COVID has gone away so that the economy doesn't hurt.

This has to be a joke. :what-the-hell:

Maybe it is because I am suffering from mild sleep deprivation, but I feel like I'm losing my fucking marbles. Maybe this is for the event of a false warning? But even so it's fucking deranged

To find out that I have succumbed to madness would be a great comfort. The greater terror lies in knowing all of this is real.

You actually do. If you're shielded from the initial energy wave and far enough away to survive the blast pressure wave you'll most likely be fine. Acute radiation poisoning falls off pretty rapidly after 5-10 miles, and fallout is mostly a problem for people downwind of the blast center. If the bomb is air-burst instead of ground burst the complications from fallout go down a lot, too. Like if you're within a few miles of ground zero you're probably fucked, but if you survive the blast wave you're probably fine.

Engage virtually with your community through video and phone calls. Know that it’s normal to feel anxious or stressed. Take care of your body and talk to someone if you are feeling upset. Many people may already feel fear and anxiety about the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). The threat of a nuclear explosion can add additional stress. Follow CDC guidance for managing stress during a traumatic event and managing stress during COVID-19

Imagine thinking US infrastructure will survive a nuclear war.

I love that America's preparation for Nuclear War was, more or less literally, "The cities are full of removed democrat voting ethnic scum and when they are purged by fire America will be better off. Also building communal fallout shelters would be communism".

    Great country. A+

This nuclear missile was created in a lab in Russia. Deliberately. Liberals will tell you that you can be safe from it if you wear a little HAZMAT suit when you go outside. What they won't tell you is that this was planned all along. They just want to sell you anti-radiation chemicals and make a 1984 police state around "bunkers". "Oh no we need to stay in bunkers for up to three weeks before the background radiation dissipates." I can't even see background radiation and besides, I'm young and healthy. There's radiation in a banana too but I eat them- organic- because I prepared for this. I'm over here eating little bits of radiation every day while liberals cry in their bunkers.
