There kinda is, but much like the EU its functionally just a proxy for some of the bigger economies (Ethiopia mainly), which are themselves heavily influenced (if not outright colonized) by Western corporate interests.
I'd happily trade the AU for some kind of African IWW.
Most Africans I've met tend to be very sympathetic towards China while appreciating Russia for the aid it gave during its Soviet past. The rich ones tend to be Western educated, speak English, and constantly whine about socialism and how they should open to foreign investors more.
