Do they really think China is gonna just stick with capitalism as it says outright that it plans to transition? Do they think that this video, conflicting with the imperial narrative, is critical enough to be a net benefit against China?

Really makes you thunk 🤔

Not going to watch the video, but it is in the interest of sectors of finance capital (and physical capital) to try and keep capital flows between China and the West open so they can make profits. They care more about next quarter's profits than the long-term historical struggle.

They want to get as geopolitically close as possible to war with China without actually starting a war with China.

What China will do remains to be seen, but I think they might be projecting their US govt "say something, do nothing" bias onto China regarding socialism/communism.

What a treat it will be when China proves different, including to the western left, many on here included. Idk, I'm hopeful 🤷‍♀️

I'm skeptical and hopeful at the same time of China's commitment to socialism, but them doing well and bringing back multipolarity (in addition to the periphery getting much needed investment) is a net good, in spite of that.

Doesnt bloomberg write with actual capitalists in mind? Probably not in their best interest to lie about the state of things.

      Yes it's this.

When your audience is the finance bougies you want to ACTUALLY inform them. They do not lie to themselves when money is on the line.

What you're looking at here @cpfhornet is the two tier system of news. Mass consumption media for the workers and paywalled actually-educational content for the bourgeoisie. This one being outside the paywall is simply an exception for Bloomberg as it wants to leverage youtube for advertising.

What I find interesting is the balance of actual information here with clear attempts to maintain the imperial line on the many levels of ongoing western soft power expansion/preservation propaganda projects. It doesn't yield a very coherent message, and I guess what I take from it is that the bourgeois class is in motion in ways it hasn't been in decades. Perhaps we will see a schism for the first time since the fall of the Soviet Union. Interesting times...

I am in full agreement with you though, solid take!

If a schism occurs in the international bourgeoisie we'll see wars between formerly allied countries and within those wars the bourgeoisie on each side will fund the anti-war movements of their opponents.

If we see a schism we will see opportunities for real ML-led revolutions arise and should be preparing ourselves for that eventuality. It will be the first time since '91 that the conditions return back to favour for us, a schism will create decisions among the bourgeoisie to fund the destabilising opponent of their enemies - which is us or fascists, depending on the country and conditions.

I like the cope they decided to end the piece with…

"It's the evil authoritarianism of Chinese reGimE what allowed them to quickly help out Africa!"

"We haven't been able to do that, because we are the good guys! Democracy!"

"It will be much better when we do it!".

That's kinda how I interpreted this piece. I'm in total agreement with the rest of the posters - this is for the financially educated class, but that doesn't mean they won't still propagandize what they can. Judging from the quality of it in this video, they're certainly grasping at straws lol.

"Oh see the reason Africa sides with China on 'human rights' is because of these favorable trade deals, see?!? I am very smart 😎 "
