and also just a bunch of lurid collectables that harshly clash with 50% of the rest of the game
Whoa whoa whoa, you leave TF2 out of this
Dragons have been a huge part of several expansions storylines, the writers are just throwing darts at a wall covered with Post it's at this point.
So to clarify this post is infact real and WoW has never had a expansion based entirely on dragons because many other expansions were already basically based around dragons making a dragon based expansion strange and redundant but this is now a thing because "capitalism breeds innovation?"
Yep. They're introducing a dragonoid race that can only be the new class they're introducing which sounds like it's going to be a mage/priest hybrid with some dragon flavored abilities. I haven't played retail WoW since Legion but sort of kept up on the storyline and it just seems like they realized they didn't actually need to create a coherent storyline so fuck it, dragons everywhere, nerds love dragons.
Lmao. I found this picture of the race not sure how legit but anything else I've searched doesn't look that much better. Now imagine that riding a real dragon into battle. :miyazaki-laugh:
Unfortunately, the real thing isn't as funny, but it does look pretty bad. WoW in general has always looked like technicolor barf to me.
Looks like they just took the worgen character models and slapped some wings on them.
At least it's not just a regular human with horns or whatever. Gotta give at least a point for that, I appreciate when games branch out a bit. Like GW2's charr having a giant hunch + horse-neck and running on all fours.
Am I supposed to be looking at the middle ones instead of the dragons on the sides? :michael-laugh:
funny thing is that the male human dragon forms are based on blood elves, but the female dragon forms are based on human females.
(incels have ruined the word female for me)
Its the fact that they can turn into humans and they still made them dragon-people instead of just actual dragons that gets me. Am I missing something? Is it an engine limitation? Why make something so complicated when the simple thing is much cooler?
As a non-wow-player-sometime-hearthstone-amateur aren't dragonkin already a thing? Is this something different?
Drakonids
Those guys look way cooler than the new race. Why not just make them playable instead?
If I had to guess, the art department doesn't want to make armor for a frame that is wildly different than the rest of the races. With this they can just use the worgen models.
Nah I just did some sleuthing and there are Dragonkin cards in hearthstone
https://hearthstone.fandom.com/wiki/Dragonkin_Sorcerer
E) it seems "Dragonkin" is an umbrella term in wow lore, so we are both technically right I guess? the wiki article implies there are more "draconic races"
There are new races basically every expansion. Last one had fox and snake people.
me too but i'll keep playing that slop anyway
at least for month or two.
Given WoW’s history with this sort of thing, which dragon do you think they’ll bring back from the dead? Would be funny if they brought Onyxia back for a fourth time.
End of raid storyline - Sylvannus flys up out of the Maw in dragon form, followed by a bunch of rescued souls (You can tell it's her because the dragon has the same eyeliner) as the new guardian of the Emerald Dream after you beat Lich Neltharion and foil his plans to turn everyone into dragonoid slaves.
Also powered by Elune, also grows a new world tree to make up for the whole burning thing. Full redemption.
She also brings Nathanos, haven't heard from him in a minute.
In 2006 I spent hours trying to grind a pet drake, little dragon guy. But I can’t remember if there were big ones
Well yes, but no
There were dragons, but now there are also dragons, also, you can be a dragon, and, you can ride dragons ( you could before but now it's different)
can you be dragon and also ride on a dragon while being a dragon and have a dragon as a pet too
no lfd
i literally play video games in the first place because i'm antisocial and now they're taking out a feature that was in the original and made half the game content accessible? cool :doomjak:
If they follow the old patches, it'll be added in for the ICC dungeons.
I hate that i actually like the look of some of the areas, one is basically grizzly hills meets nagrand. Having grown up in azeroth more than in real life, i don't think i'll ever stop being homesick for wow as sad as that is, but i figure the very least i can do is play on pirate servers to avoid giving those fuckers anymore money. Maybe i can get it out of my system by playing the beta? i played some of them back in the day and they always approved me but i don't remember if you needed a currently active paid account to do that :thonk-cri:
With what them bringing Wrath to classic right now, is there any reason to play legit classic instead of a prirate server? Have they upgraded it somehow or is it the same thing again?
