Back in my day we used to call this being "crunk", but I'm pretty sure that's been outmoded for a long while now.

When I was in college like 8 years ago we called it getting Crossfaded. Supposedly it helped you avoid a hangover but I never experienced that lol.

I think most of the help to prevent a hangover is that it usually slows your roll (the pace of your drinking), but only if you smoke BEFORE you start drinking. If I smoke while drinking I end up drinking a lot more. If you smoke after you have been drinking you can get the spins real bad and can easily get nauseous and end up yakking. Smoking/vaping/edibles the morning after drinking is a complete necessity and is the #1 hangover cure (or at least allows you to ignore hangover symptoms).

This is all my own experience, everybody is different. Also, crossfaded is the common term.

I believe this kind of math to be ex post facto, you can kind of blunt a hangover with getting high the day after but really the answer is drink enough water along with whatever alcohol you're drinking

Oh definitely - water is the number one. I guess I take drinking tons of water while drinking and after as a given, not really a hangover cure. But yes absolutely drink lots of water.

The way me and my friends understood it is it isn't for hangovers, but for nausea / throwing up.

Only a bit related but I love that a “hippie speedball” is drinking coffee while getting high

in my high school we called it getting "twisted" but in college one state away they never called it that and only said crossfaded.

Crossed or cross faded. Always makes me puke on a night of heavy drinking. I’m an experienced enough drunk to nullify the spins that come with being proper sloshed but throw some weed in the mix and my guts feel like I’m on a roller coaster

The order genuinely matters. If you have weed in your system first, then drink, it's not as bad as adding the weed in once you're already drunk.

I used to get away with it smoking dirt weed after a couple of tallys. Not now, holy fuck, the weed is too potent. Last time I tried was at a bar after two cans of guiness and a couple of hits of the pipe in some dudes truck. I couldn't figure out how to get on my bike and ended up walking it home. I miss dirt weed.

weed, then beer: you're in the clear

beer, then grass: you're on your arse

pre-crunk it was "stunk and droned"

guess that has some other connotations these days

I've also heard crossfaded or just faded used by folks younger than myself recently

Crossed or crossfaded specifically, but like any mixing is sometimes just under the 'vibin' category.
