Looks we've reached the point in the cycle where democrats start telling themselves they'll win by default because republicans actually can't win for some reason.

I have a bad feeling that the "groomer" campaign is going to go way better than the "well we tried" campaign.

Conservatives have taken to calling lgbt people "groomers". It's like QAnon pedo conspiracies but applied to regular people.

That shit again? God, how many times do they have to be proven wrong before that stereotype dies? Aren't pedos disproportionately rich, straight, religious white dudes?

Pretty much yeah and especially among GOP members and their family/friends (i.e. exploitative pedophilia and pedophilia involving many minors is common among wealthy and usually white individuals).

I have colleagues who have gotten accused of "grooming" for signing emails to students with their first names. Parent said it was "suspiciously familiar."

Honestly would love if we started turning that back on people with straight faced questions of "oh so for you any form of kindness or sympathy is how you extract sexual favors from those you love!?" and "so the only reason you've ever been kind or familiar with anyone is because you want to fuck them". Just start and go fucking wilding on these fucking freaks with "no you are the freak because you are the one wanting sexual favors for kindness!".

Yeah, this was basically my first thought as well. Way to tell on yourself about the fact that you're unwilling to show any interpersonal warmth to someone you're not trying to fuck.

"Libs of TikTok" has unfortunately done a lot of damage with those videos scraped from TikTok of well-meaning people who want to educate children in sexuality and queer theory from a young age, so they'll grow up having a choice of gender identities and sexualities. To the untrained eye it looks like pedophiles grooming children, yet it is anything but.

Thing is they have to fuck them up even more than the Democrats, which is one hell of an ask for anyone at the best of times - let alone when Covid Joe has 6 months left to work his magic

Douglas MacKinnon, a political and communications consultant, was a writer in the White House for Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, and former special assistant for policy and communications at the Pentagon during the last three years of the Bush administration.

It's extremely rare for the opposition party to not do well in the midterms. I think the last time it happened was after 9/11.

despite somehow controlling the government from minority party status, controlling the narrative even though their media platforms are seen as absurd, and despite being a major threat to our society even though everyone ridicules them....

HERE'S how Republicans are going to somehow blow it this time.

The first would be voter apathy by traditional Republicans, conservatives and people of faith.

Yeah, under a dem president during an economic downturn, sure

The second would be — drum roll, please — potential fallout from anything Donald Trump says, does or hints.

When has this ever been a problem

And the third would be a full-court press by Democrats, aided by some in the mainstream media, to come across as suddenly moderate while metaphorically throwing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as far overboard as possible.

    Lmao

put this one in the dunk tank

Won’t it be kind of hard for them to take the senate? It’s like 2/3 of the seats up for re-election are republicans and I do think PAs senate seat will flip to D.

No chance republicans don’t take the house though
