When Republicans control the levers of power: illegal wars, more border concentration camps, building the NSA spy program, the patriot act, making corporations the same as people, tax cuts for the rich, etc.
When Democrats control the levers of power: Govern? You want me to govern? Look, see that guy over there? His name is Jim Bob, a Republican senator from Idaho. Me and old Jim, we go way back. Agree on the important issues. Now, if I use my power to govern, Jim Bob's going to be real mad with me, might not send me a Christmas card this year. You wouldn't want that, would you? It wouldn't be civil to break up a friendship over a little thing like governance. I'm sure I can get Jim to talk to his colleagues and we'll come to a bipartisan consensus. And I'll let you in on a little secret. All that bad stuff the other side does that you don't like? We do all that too. Media just doesn't seem to care when we do it. Anyway, the parliamentarian said no on this one, but we'll get 'em next time. Remember to vote better!
Just found Second Thought. Their video on Revolutionary Optimism is mandatory watching today. Good pipeline for libs that seems ideologically consistent.
Seen very little Hakim (usually prefer reading over Breadtube) but Hakim is the most based man on the internet. He's a perfect anathema to liberals, a god damn doctor in Iraq is telling you about the destruction of imperialism. You have no ground to stand on if you ignore him.

Democrats ran on an infrastructure bill, a new voting rights bill, student debt relief, and COVID-centric health care reform.
They delivered a bigger military complete with a proxy war in the Ukraine, a new trade war with Russia/China, and a bunch of tax cuts for rich people.
Like, it isn't as though they aren't governing. They're fucking governing. They're just governing like a bunch of Liberal Republicans.
At least they delivered on no more* kids in cages
*media coverage of
They’re just
governing likea bunch of Liberal Republicans.Ratchet effect. Also I’ve found this video relatively useful for libs who are starting to lose faith in dems from repeated promise breaking
