So it's like... there's kind of something here? That probably was the first time that cop had ever seen someone on fire, and when we find ourselves face to face with completely new experiences, we tend to fall back on instinct or training. And the training that the cop fell back on was drawing his weapon and threatening the man who was on fire, so that tells you a little bit about cops (that we knew already). I also wouldn't be surprised if that cop needs therapy after seeing that shit up close and in person.
maybe he thought firearms are for fighting fire
Hopefully he needs therapy and hopefully that therapy will lead him to finding a new line of work
